150th Anniversary

This year will be a very special milestone for the FBC Family of Faith. God has blessed FBC with 150 years of ministry.
The Anniversary Team has chosen a theme: Psalms 78:4, “We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.” Rooted in the Past, Growing into the Future.
Please save these dates for the Anniversary Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 19-20. Several events are being planned for these days and the hope is many former members, pastors and friends will be coming to Murphysboro to be a part of the celebration.
The first item being planned is the 150th Anniversary Edition of the All Church Pictorial Directory with more activities to follow.
Be sure to watch the website, bulletins and the “Bapties” for more details on the upcoming 150th Anniversary Celebration as they become available.

2019 Pictorial Directory

This fall, October 19-20, FBC will be celebrating its 150th Anniversary with a weekend filled with great events. Lifetouch took photographs March 5th-7th. By Monday morning, March 4th, there were no available appointments…the schedule was fully booked. The photographers were amazed and overwhelmed by those participating.
If you were unable to have your photograph taken for the directory, feel free to submit a photo to the church office. It will be scanned and returned so that you and your family will appear in the 2019 FBC Pictorial Directory.
If you have questions concerning adding your family to the directory, please feel free to contact Kay in the church office.

Yard Sale

The Annual Yard Sale will be held on in the back parking lot on Friday, April 26th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and Saturday, April 27th from 7:00 am – 12:00 pm. Clean out your closets, garages, basements, attics, and from under your beds. Let items that you no longer need become someone’s new treasure and help the kids and youth go to summer camp.
Bring your donated items to the Youth House or church. For pickup, call Kathie Grob at 924-7017.

Church in the Park

Church will be held in the park on Sunday, May 19th at the Riverside Park Pavilion. The service will be starting at 10:00 am with worship followed by a picnic lunch at 11:15 am. There will be fun and games after the meal.

Volunteers Needed

The food pantry is in need of volunteers to do the many tasks that need to be done. Just two or three hours, one day a week would be helpful. Your time and generosity will be a blessing as well as a wonderful gift to someone less fortunate. FBC Murphy is working at the food pantry weekly. If you are interested in helping, contact Megan Austin at 618-684-8258.

Wednesday Night Activities

It all starts with FBC Kids and Crossfire at 3:30 pm. All children from Kindergarten – 5th grade are welcome to be a part of the FBC Kids Club from 3:30-6:00 pm, which offers snacks, homework, Bible stories and dinner. Transportation is provided from the two Murphysboro grade schools by contacting the school and Barb Troutman. Crossfire Middle School Youth is from 3:30-5:30 pm.
